Things don’t always go to plan and sometimes when life throws you a curve ball you just want to sleep in late and eat chocolate for breakfast.
Well I’ve got THE BEST news for you. With my super-simple, super-chocolatey breakfast bowl you can!
Not only do you get to eat chocolate for breakfast, but you can also feel oh so virtuous whilst you eat it.
All you need is oats, chia seeds, a banana, nut butter, raw cacao powder, maca powder and water to make the chocolatey base and then some fruit, nuts and/or seeds to top it off.
Here are some of the nutritional highlights of this little bowl of goodness…
Raw cacao powder
Raw cacao is full of antioxidants that protect your cells from damage. One of the types of antioxidant which is abundant in raw cacao is polyphenols.
Studies show that polyphenols support cardiovascular health and may help regulate cholesterol levels and improve blood flow and help lower blood pressure.
Other nutrients found in raw cacao are magnesium, iron, copper, calcium, potassium, and zinc making it a real nutritional power-house!
